Welcome to the North Carolina Health Information Management Association (NCHIMA). NCHIMA is the component state organization (CSA) of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) providing education and advocacy for health information management professionals. Our mission is to promote quality, access, and security of health information in all healthcare settings for the benefit of our members, healthcare consumers, providers, and other users of clinical data.
NCHIMA represents over 2,000 members knowledgeable on critical topics such as health care information technology (electronic medical records), privacy and security of health information, coding, and reimbursement. We also hold many events throughout the year for continuing education, including an Annual Meeting, Coding Roundtable Meetings, Webinars, and other workshops.
NCHIMA has seven (7) regions within our state that are very active in providing education and networking opportunities within your local area.
