Welcome to NCHIMA – Behavioral Health Section 2011 - 2012!
This year is proving to be a very exciting but busy year. Many of us are experiencing anxiety over ICD 10 implementation, the electronic record implementation, HIPAA Audits as well as all of our other responsibilities in the workforce. The NCHIMA Behavioral Health Section is endeavoring to assist in alleviating some of the stress by providing you with up-to-date information and interesting speakers at our annual conference June 13-15, 2012. Those topics will include the HIPAA Updates, Electronic Health Record, ICD 10 implementation, information on the retention of records and the 1915 b/c waiver. There will be other interesting topics so I hope to see you there.
We were fortunate this past year to have volunteers to work on our various committees and we have put them to work. We have plenty for all who would like to participate to do. However, we not only need volunteers but we need fresh ideas and new faces to join the Board so please consider running for an office this upcoming year. Our section cannot survive without its membership but we also need the membership to assist in providing the leaders that our section needs.
The NCHIMA Behavioral Health Section is endeavoring to increase the membership and therefore, ask for your assistance. Please share whatever information you receive from us with others who may not be on our mailing list. Remember that even though you may not be an officer, you are a member of our section, in other words you are the membership and your voice speaks volumes.
It is a pleasure and honor to serve as Coordinator for the NCHIMA Behavioral Health Section. I look forward to seeing you in June!
