The NCHIMA Education Committee offers 3 scholarships that are awarded every year at the annual meeting. Scholarships available are: • $1,000 awarded to one HIM Student • $500 awarded to one HIT Student • $500 awarded to one HIT/HIM Student for the Mary Harvey Scholarship Eligibility Requirements: 1. Be a full time student in good standing in an accredited Health Information Management or Health Information Technology Program in North Carolina and be a member of NCHIMA. 2. Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 in college work completed(official transcript required). 3. Obtain recommendation from Health Information Management Program Director (HIM Students) or Health Information Technology Program Director (HIT Students) along with two (2) additional letters of recommendation. 4. Submit a typed resume. 5. Complete the NCHIMA Scholarship Application. The 2011 scholarship application is here. NCHIMA-BHS Scholarship The NCHIMA-Behavioral Health Section offers one $500 scholarship on an annual basis. The application deadline is May 23, 2012, in order for the Education Committee to evaluate all applications and notify the recipient.
