Call for Award Nominations

NCHIMA recognizes outstanding contributions made by its members each year.

Nominating a member is simple through NCHIMA’s award information page, which includes descriptions of each award and instructions for submitting nominations. NCHIMA is currently accepting nominations for the 2026 awards listed below.

Nominations close on August 15, 2026.

Make An Award Nomination

Scholarship Applications Are Open

Scholarship applications are open to students in good standing in a CAHIIM-accredited Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, or Master’s in Health Informatics and Information Management program in North Carolina. Educators teaching in a CAHIIM-accredited program in North Carolina who are pursuing a graduate degree are also eligible. Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Active member of NCHIMA

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Completion of the online NCHIMA Scholarship Application. Submission Requirements include:

  • Online statement from the Program Director that includes verification of enrollment. It is the responsibility of the applicant to request completion of this form

  • Upload two letters of recommendation (other than family or clergy). Candidates are encouraged to obtain one of the two letters from a health information instructor

  • Resume

  • Current transcript

Applicants will be evaluated based on the information supplied in the application, submitted documents, and academic achievement.
