President-Elect Update from Erika Parker
Greetings NCHIMA Members,
I hope you are doing well and getting to enjoy some of this wonderful NC Fall Weather! I wanted to reach out and provide a couple updates on behalf of NCHIMA.
HOD/AHIMA22
NCHIMA had the privilege to send three delegates to represent the great state of North Carolina at the annual AHIMA House of Delegates (HOD) meeting in Columbus, OH on October 9th! Erika Parker (President-Elect), Kolby Watts (Secretary/Treasurer), and Marianne Durling (Legal and Advocacy Delegate) attended to represent and vote on behalf of NC, with attendance and support from Linda Monusko (Executive Director).
As Kris McCall, shared with you earlier in October, AHIMA had composed a committee to provide necessary updates to bylaws, and these proposed bylaw updates would be voted on during the HOD meeting. Based on feedback from our membership, NC voted to approve all Bylaw recommendations with the exception of 12.6 Dues Payment to Component State Associations and 4.3.2 Student. However, all bylaw revisions with the exception of 12.6 Dues Payment to Component State Associations were approved by the HOD.
Erika and Linda went on to attend AHIMA 22 Global Conference in Columbus, OH and had a great time seeing old colleagues, making new connections, and learning lots!
Save the Date for AHIMA 2023 Global Conference on October 8th -11th in Baltimore, Maryland! We hope to see you there!
