What is in store for us with the coding update? How about 400+ICD-10-CM codes,143 revised codes and 51 deleted codes for ICD-10-CM. We review the updates to the Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines and how the updated guidelines will affect coding. Of course, we cannot leave out PCS. This year we will see PCS increase from 78,705 codes to 78,881.
PCS Review: What is instore? How about the following:
392 new codes, 261 deleted codes revised codes and 8 revised titles.
Review PCS Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines. There will be one new guideline added and some wording changes to the other.

Mary completed her Associates degree in Health Information Management at Central Piedmont Community College. She has obtained the following credentials: RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CPC, and CCS‐P. Mary is a Licensed PMCC Instructor and an AHIMA Certified ICD‐10‐CM/PCS Trainer. She is also an active member of AHIMA, NCHIMA and the AAPC.
