Pamela Lail is an Operations Specialist with Novant Health in Winston-Salem, NC. She received a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Western Carolina University and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been an active member of NCHIMA for 15 years and has served in a variety of leadership roles including the President-Elect for the 2016-2017 term. Pamela is passionate about helping students and new professionals succeed in Health Information Management and will be embarking on the role of Mentorship Committee Chair in 2016 for the Project Management Institute – Metrolina Chapter so that she can assist emerging professionals in the area of project management. She taught for 4 years as an adjunct faculty member for Central Piedmont Community College in the Health Information Technology program on the topic of Health Informatics and Electronic Health Records. Pamela has an extensive background in health IT, analytics, informatics, and information governance while working for a Fortune 15 Health IT company for almost ten years before moving back to acute care hospitals. She recently helped publish an academic paper on the facility closure process for healthcare facilities that will be published in the Fall 2016 edition of Perspectives in Health Information Management. Pamela lives in Mooresville, NC with her husband Ross, seven-year old son Levi, and a leopard gecko named Rhino. She spends her spare time reading true crime novels, going on dust bunny safaris with her son, and is an avid amateur astronomer.

Lori Nobles, RHIA, PMP, CPHIMS, CHTS-IM/b>Principal

Lori Nobles, RHIA, PMP, CPHIMS, CHTS-IM, is a Principal at Cumberland Consulting Group and has nearly 30 years of healthcare experience, specializing in health information management and ambulatory care system design and implementation. Throughout her career, she has successfully led enterprise health information system and best-of-breed project implementations involving system configuration, testing, staff training and implementation support.

At Cumberland, Mrs. Nobles has held project management roles for large multi-facility health systems and skilled nursing facilities. She also developed Cumberland’s ICD-10 methodology and serves as the firm’s ICD-10 subject matter expert. Prior to joining Cumberland, she was a manager of ambulatory EMR implementation services for McKesson.

Mrs. Nobles has a bachelor’s degree in health information management from the Medical College of Georgia – Augusta University. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is also a Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist – Implementation Manager (CHTS-IM) and Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with AHIMA.


Kel Pults, DHA, MSN, RN

Dr. Pults is currently the VP of Strategic Consulting and Client Services at MediQuant, Inc. She is an executive at MediQuant with 18+ years of experience in performing hands on patient care, clinical informatics, information technology tasks and projects in diverse clinical environments. Her current role involves identifying all applications in inventory and scope for archive. She provides in-depth consulting to assist clients in determining from an executive level what needs to be archived and/or decommissioned and works with the client to develop an enterprise application archive roadmap.

Scott’s practice focuses primarily on representing healthcare and corporate entities. Scott advises his healthcare clients in the areas of HIPAA compliance, risk analysis and assessment, third-party contract drafting and negotiation with third-parties, and state and federal regulatory compliance. Scott advises his corporate clients on legal matters affecting their businesses, including corporate governance, third-party contracting, leasing and real estate, finance agreements, and sales and purchasing. Scott’s clients include companies in various industries, including healthcare providers, construction, financial services, and professional sports franchises.

Prior to joining Gardner Skelton, PLLC, Scott practiced with a large law firm in Ohio and then in North Carolina. Scott also served as in-house counsel for a Medicaid managed care company in Charlotte.

MeShawn is a senior consultant in Deloitte’s Advisory health care practice with significant health information management experience focusing on finance, operations, and risk transformation in both the provider and payer environments. MeShawn possesses robust and diverse experience in end-to-end revenue cycle, data management governance, data loss prevention, information governance, health system implementation, remediation, provider auditing, clinical documentation improvement, data analysis, ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding and billing, payer system remediation, policy development, legal research, and technical solutions. MeShawn is an active member of AHIMA and HIMSS and currently sits on the AHIMA Information Governance Practice Council and is a HIMSS ICD-10 Task Force member.
