NCHIMA South Region is accepting nominations for the following positions.
- President-Elect
- Secretary
President-Elect
The President-Elect serves a 3-year term starting as President-Elect, then President, and finally Past President. Secretary is a one-year term.
The President-Elect position is to assist the President and learn the ropes for the next position. The Past President is similar to an Executive Director and offers expertise and guidance to the President. The Secretary keeps records and is responsible for the maintenance of region documentation.
The President-Elect shall act in place of the President in the event of the absence of the President and shall exercise such other duties as may be delegated to the office by the Board. The skillsets needed for president-elect and president are comfortable in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Being able to use email is a must and willingness to learn new software will be important. Both president and president-elect positions require organization, time management, and communication skills.
President
The President shall be the chief elected officer of NCHIMA South Region. The President shall preside at all meetings of the members, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee. The President will determine, in consultation with the President-Elect, the regular agenda of all meetings of the members, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee. The President shall present a report at an Annual Meeting, appoint the chairs and members of committees (unless otherwise specified herein) authorized by the Board of Directors, and perform such other duties as are inherent in the office of President or as authorized by the Board of Directors. The President shall represent NCHIMA South Region at NCHIMA meetings as a voting member of the NCHIMA Board of Directors. The President must be an Active Member of NCHIMA South Region as well as an active AHIMA member.
Secretary
The Secretary shall be the official custodian of the records of NCHIMA South Region. The Secretary shall certify and keep the original or a copy of the Policy and Procedure Manual, these Bylaws, as amended to date, as well as a book of minutes of all meetings of the members and the Board of Directors, and any committees having any of the authority of the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall perform any and all other duties incident to the office of Secretary and other duties as may be prescribed by law, the Policy and Procedures, these Bylaws, or the Board of Directors. The skillsets needed for the secretary position are comfortable in working with Microsoft Word, and Excel along with the ability to upload files for storage. Being able to use email is a must. Organization, time management, and communication skills are important.
