Welcome from the Western Foothills Region!
Our region represents the health information community of the beautiful foothills of North Carolina. Our vibrant region is comprised of a loyal core of members as well as frequent visitors from all around the state, meeting regularly for education, fellowship and fun! We meet four times a year, usually in September, November, February and March. Our meetings in September and November are dedicated to coding, with presentations designed to address updates for CPT and ICD for the coming year. For the other two meetings, we focus on various topics of interest for health information professionals, such as RAC, HIPAA, Compliance and the new adventure of Information Governance and Health Informatics. We are currently exploring the options of adding a fifth meeting in June, where we will offer focused presentations for certification exams in the Health Information Management field.
In these difficult economic times, we take pride in providing services that represent value for money spent – well qualified speakers who offer timely presentations, a central location easily accessible to all, and some of the lowest fees per CE hour available. There are no “member” fees and students currently enrolled in an accredited health information program may attend for free.
We welcome with open arms anyone who wishes to learn more about the challenging field of health information. You don’t have to be a member, you don’t have to live in our region, you don’t even have to work in the field – you just need to be ready to grow and explore with us, and to plan on having a great time while you do it! Please join us for our next meeting – we hope to see you there!
